Meet your photographer.
Hi! I'm Lindsay, and I've had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in a small town in Newfoundland and I've always had a love for the beautiful landscapes, the crashing waves, and the whipping winds.
And then I started photographing human subjects. I witnessed the love, the loss, the beauty, and the life that exists in every day moments between people. And I made it my life's work to capture stories as deep as the ocean.
On your wedding day, be okay with getting your dress a little dirty and messy - you’ll only wear it once. Your hair is going to blow in the wind. Let it. For family sessions, just let the kids run wild and do whatever feels natural to them.
If that sounds like you, you’re my kind of people. We’re moving beyond shot lists, perfectly styled flat lays, and “sit still and smile for the camera” around here.
Let’s capture the beautifully imperfect, honest and raw current moment of your life.
the personal stuff -
I first introduced myself as an artist and business owner, but when art meets business, it’s all kind of personal at the same time. I don’t just document the lives of clients as part of my career, I’ve documented my own life since my first pink Barbie point-and-shoot film camera was in my hands. And I still document my own life with my fiancé and two rescue cats, Phoebe & Stallone, once again mostly on film.
There has always been a soft spot in my life for nostalgia, vintage, things with a story, things from the past, things from another life. Nothing makes me audibly gasp like film photos, the first scratch of the needle on a record, scoring a beautiful solid wood vintage furniture piece at the thrift store. I think that’s all a part of what draws me to this profession - some day the work I create now will be that for someone else, a glimpse into a past life, and that’s the legacy I want to leave as an artist.
Outside of photography I have a long background (and degree) in classical music, myself and my fiancé have a growing record collection and we’ve recently made it a goal to slowly fill our house with all thrifted or handmade furniture and decor. I’ve started growing a small garden of flowers and vegetables every summer, recently started baking our own sourdough bread, I’ve made space for my love of reading to return. We’re outdoors people, we hike and camp whenever I take summer weekends off from weddings, and I will truly find my way onto a boat any time the opportunity arises. We love to travel, and our most recent trip to the west coast of Canada was my first time seeing proper mountains and my first view of the auroras. He proposed under a hidden waterfall in Iceland, and while it was already a special place in my heart, it has a whole new meaning for us now.
I’m learning to slow down and appreciate the simplest pleasures in life, while documenting it all along the way.
